Herb Pharm

Throughout Herb Pharm’s 30-year history we have built trust with our customers the same way we produce our herbal products – with meticulous attention to detail, responsible environmental policy, and ethical business practices. How we get our herbal extracts to “work” is a long and detailed process that starts with environmentally responsible practices on our organic farm and in the wild fields of our rural valley here in southern Oregon, as well as the far reaches of the earth. Once the herbs are procured, the process continues throughout a multitude of Good Manufacturing Practices and stringent quality assurance controls in our FDA-audited manufacturing facility. This careful attention to detail assures our customers the trust that each and every product is produced correctly, batch after batch, each and every time.

Wild Yam

There are several benefits of wild yam usage. Though it has a long history of use as a woman's herb, it also has several other benefits. One of its other folk names is "colic root" to pay homage to the fact that it is a great herb for colic. The thing that makes wild yams effective for certain conditions is the fact that it is considered an antispasmodic. This means that it is capable of relieving spasms including those in the intestines or those brought on by menstrual cramps.

Yucca

The primary medical use of yucca is to treat arthritis and joint pain and inflammation. Native Americans used sap from the leaves in poultices or baths to treat skin lesions, sprains, inflammation, and bleeding. Constituents of the yucca are used today to treat people with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis . The plant's medical properties are found in saponins, precursors of cortisone, which prevent the release of toxins from the intestines that restrict normal cartilage formation. Saponins are produced naturally in the body by the adrenal glands. It is believed yucca works best for arthritis when taken over an extended period of time.
